Whether you arrive on a private jet or drive your own vehicle from the USA, we are confident that the lodge and ranch will be more than you expected. Typically, upon your arrival, once you are settled into your room (the lodge sleeps 10) your guide assists you in sighting in your rifle at our private gun range.
Your first hunt day begins an hour or so before day break with a light breakfast and fresh coffee. You and your guide head out to the ranch. The bulls always move a lot early in the morning and late in the evening, so we try and cover as much ground walking or quading early looking for your trophy.
The afternoons traditionally spent glassing the river hills and valleys for giant elk bedded in the aspens or willows. A field lunch is provided. You can expect a hot lunch most days, fajita, hamburger or elk smokies. Early in the season when the days are long, we may even have a siesta.
When the sun goes down we head back to our lodge for appetizers and a great meal prepared by Polly our chef. You can relax with a coffee or wine by our fireplace or read a book in our Great Room overlooking Blackfoot Valley.
We built a new lodge in 2004. The lodge is a chalet style 'A' frame. There is a wood burning fire place as a center piece in the great room, surrounded by a great collection of antlers and trophy mounts. The lodge is attached to our guest house.
Between the two facilities we can accommodate up to 10 guests. There are rooms for 1 guest or a couple, as well as rooms for guests to share. There are a couple rooms available with private bathrooms as well.
